A new picture and work in progress

Lately I've been busy writing and drawing.  I've nearly finished rewriting chapter 1 and so far it's more than 4000 words.  It's a long chapter but the others aren't going to be that long.  For drawing I'm working on a portrait of Minira.  She is one of the main characters.  I'm also working on a mermaid picture that will be my first one using coloured pencils.  There are mermaids in my fantasy series and the picture is the design of them.

I was busy again with my life off the internet.  I finally found time to upload a couple of new pics.  They are characters from my story.

Working on some new art

It's been a while since I've been here.  The problem was that I was too busy.  I also moved not too long ago.


I've decided to give up on cg art and focus completely on drawings.  I'll also be trying some with coloured pencils.  I figured that my cg art just wasn't good enough and my drawings were much better.  I've also decided to stop doing fairy cats and other miscellaneous art.  My main focus is illustrating my novel.  At the moment I've already done 2 sketches.  The first sketch was on my character Jenna-Lina and the second was of my character Bethera.  At the moment I'm working on a portrait of Minira.

I was too busy moving to do nanwrimo this year.  I was upset about that because I was looking forward to it.  The fact that I've moved also means that I'm no longer going to that art group.  That was also disappointing because it was helping produce a lot of art.

Hopefully this new year, will be a year full of art.

This is the third drawing I've done while at the local artgroup.  Not quite happy with the way the hair turned out.  Again, no reference was used.

I've already started working on the next one.  It's of a fairy.

A long update!

I joined a local art group a couple of months ago.  It has been good for getting traditional art done.  I've done two drawings while there so far and am nearly finished a third.  I've been wanting to get back into drawing for a while now but haven't done it.  Joining the art group has been a good motivater.  It was also good to meet other artists and see their work.  So far I've had plenty of good feedback when I go there.  The only problem is that it isn't good for getting my fairy cats done.

I haven't done many fairy cats lately.  I've been so busy with my drawings.  But I have started working on a new one today.  So far it's taking a lot longer than my other fairy cats.  Its working title is 'Rose Kitty Fairy' and will hopefully be completed by the end of the week.

I've been working on my novel with the working title 'Blood Quest.'  I've finally finished chapter 3.  I won't be writing it for a while because I want to do more planning for the plot.  After that is done I'll get back into writing it and hopefully I will be writing a lot quicker.  I'm trying something new with this one compared to my previous novels (that are still in rough draft stage).  I want this one to be longer than 110k words.

I will be doing nanowrimo this year.  I'm trying to prepare for it as much as I can.  Hopefully this year I will be a winner.  Last year I was too busy for it but the 4 years before that I had been a winner each year.
